Hyundai Motor India has launched a special edition of the Xcent to celebrate the brand’s 20 years in India. Based on the S trim, the Hyundai Xcent special edition petrol and diesel variants cost Rs 6.22 lakh and Rs 7.15 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) respectively.
Since it’s based on the S trim, it carries all the features offered on the regular S variants besides some new features such as a chrome radiator grille, body graphics, bootlid spoiler with reflector & chrome garnish and 20th anniversary celebration emblem. The vehicle’s cabin too sees minor changes as it receives a new 6.2-inch touchscreen audio video system and new sporty red & black seats.
With a bunch of new features, the Hyundai Xcent special edition costs Rs 17,000 more than the regular S variants. Since it’s just a limited edition, the sub-4 metre sedan continues to feature the existing engine options – a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, Kappa Dual VTVT petrol and a 1.1-litre, three-cylinder, U2 CRDi diesel engine. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
While the petrol engine of the Hyundai Xcent develops 82bhp at 6000rpm and 114Nm at 4000rpm, the diesel powertrain produces 71bhp at 4000rpm and 180Nm at 1750-2500rpm.
