Many of us don’t use our vacation time, and when we think about taking it, we’re often hamstrung by the all-important question of Where should I go? It’s a difficult question to answer, but one trick is to first find a deal that appeals to you to determine the destination, then go on your vacation.
Finding the deal first serves two purposes: saving a bit of cheddar, of course, and possibly going to places that aren’t packed with other tourists. When it’s prime time to travel to Paris, Tokyo, and other familiar locales, the airline and hotel deals go elsewhere. So if you find a deal that’s too awesome to pass up, it may be a low season for that particular destination. Less money spent, fewer tourists, maximum leisure.
It’s so obvious and super simple, but sometimes it just takes a little reminder to help you flip the script and finally take the step toward vacation. Obviously, this is trickier if you have to plan around other people, but a good deal can be a good impetus and point in your favor if you and family or friends have been sitting on vacation time for a while. If you need any more reason, taking a vacation might actually help your productivity.
