British journalist Piers Morgan, who ridiculed India’s performance at recently concluded Rio Olympics 2016, once again took on former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag. Hours after England gave a massive target of 444 runs to Pakistan, Piers Morgan provoked Virender Sehwag on microblogging site Twitter and posing a challenge to the Indian cricketer. Piers Morgan challenged Virender Sehwag for a bet that England cricket team will win the ODI world cup before India’s wins an Olympic Gold.

“Hi @virendersehwag, I bet you 1 million rupees to charity that England wins a ODI World Cup before India wins another Olympic Gold. Accept?” wrote Piers Morgan on Twitter. it remains to be seen whether Sehwag accepts the bet, but it would be interesting to see the reply of the former Indian hard-hitter. Sehwag has become very active on Twitter and has been sharing his views on sports events with interesting tweets.

The twitter battle between Piers Morgan and Virender Sehwag has already begun. Sehwag was among the first celebrities who took on Morgan after he criticised on India’s performance at Rio Olympics 2016. “Country with 1.2 billion people wildly celebrates 2 losing medals. How embarrassing is that?” Morgan had tweeted. “We cherish every small happiness’, But Eng who invented Cricket & yet2win a WC, still continue to play WC. Embarrassing?” Sehwag replied in the coolest way possible.

Virender Sehwag also took a jibe at well-known writer and columnist Shobhaa De in his tweet celebrating victory of wrestler Sakshi Malik at Rio Olympics. Shobhaa De had posted an unfair post saying, “Goal of Team India at the Olympics: Rio jao. Selfies lo. Khaali haat wapas aao. What a waste of money and opportunity.” In a series of tweets, Sehwag took on Shobhaa De after Sakshi Malik won bronze medal at the Olympics. “#SakshiMalik ke gale me medal kitna “Sobha De” raha hai na !!!” wrote Sehwag. In yet another humorous tweet, using his inimitable style, Sehwag said, “Bilkul , isliye Shobha Na De aise kaam nahi karne chahiye.”
