Deshonnati

Deshonnati is a leading Marathi newspaper, which was first published in the year 1986. It was initially published as a local city newspaper from Akola in Maharashtra. It is now widely being distributed and read in the cities of Akola, Amravati, Aurangabad, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Hingoli, Jalgaon, Nanded, Washim, Wardha and Yavantmal.

Prakash Gopalrao Pohare, a social activist, is the editor-in-chief of Deshonnati. This newspaper also boasts of a very popular online portal. The special editions of this newspaper include Attmonnati, Spandan, Vasundhara, Jallosh, Rashtraprakash, etc

The editors of Kesari included a number of freedom fighters and social activists / reformers, including Agarkar (its first editor), Chiplunkar and Tilak.Agarkar left Kesari in 1887 to start his own news paper, Sudharak (the reformer) after which Tilak continued to run the paper on his own.
